Dr. Groo graduated from New York State University, College of Optometry and graduated in 1993 with a Doctor of Optometry. By obtaining the highest level of license and engaging in continued education and certification, Dr. Groo can effectively utilize oral therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. This comprehensive professional development will enable Dr. Goo to prescribe and manage these medications, ensuring optimal patient care and compliance with the latest clinical guidelines and regulatory standards. This certification permits the use of oral therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, including antibiotics, antivirals and antiglaucoma agents. This ongoing professional development ensures optimal patient care and adherence to the latest clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Dr. Groo is licensed and certified to treat and manage ocular disease and glaucoma, diagnose and manage visual conditions associated with Diabetes, Hypertension, and many systemic conditions. Dr. Groo also completed an Internship in contact lenses and vision therapy. In the Vision Therapy Internship, she completed clinical studies in the Infant/Toddler and Pediatric Clinics as well as in the Learning Disabilities Unit. Fitting specialty contact lenses including: multifocal contacts for presbyopia, scleral contacts for keratoconus, corneal transplants, and corneal dystrophies. |
With a decade of experience in private practice, Dr. Groo has focused on personalized care for all her patients. Dr. Groo is a member of the NY Optometric Association, Hudson Valley Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Optometric Extension Program.
Dr. Groo also attended New York City Technical College in Brooklyn, New York, graduating with a A.A.S. in Ophthalmic Dispensing. As an optician working for Guild Opticians, she was skilled in ophthalmic dispensing. She experienced first hand the difference the professionalism and care that a Doctor of Optometry can make in a patients' life. That is when she knew she wanted to pursue a career in optometry. It is her passion.

Anne is originally from Binghamton, NY with a degree in Cartography. As an eyeglass and contact lens wearer, she always had an interest in the optical field. After moving to Orange County she joined an Optometric practice where she trained as an Optometric assistant. Her experience and patient care is a very valuable asset to our practice and she is recently celebrating over 12 years! You can count on her to keep up with the newest technology in eyeglass lenses and frames. Anne takes into consideration the unmatched comfort provided by the latest developments in such details as thinner or thicker temples, flexible temples, along with ultra-light nose bridges.

Dave
David has over thirty years of professional experience in the optical industry. As a New York State Licensed Optician (Ophthalmic Dispenser) he brings his knowledge, experience and professionalism to Hudson Valley Eye Doctor. David has been practicing in New York City and Orange County as an Ophthalmic Dispenser for many years. David is also a talented musician.

Our receptionists, interacts with our patients and also are part of the managing administrative team. Greeting patients professionally both in person, on the phone, or though text. Our receptionists will assist you in scheduling your appointments, explain intake forms to new patients and processing payments after treatment.

Natalie is a Receptionist and Optometric Assistant with over 20 years experience and we are recently celebrating her 16 years with our practice! Natalie's professionalism and enthusiasm continues to enhance our patient's experience throughout their visit. She is very knowledgeable in all of our office procedures and policies and also facilitates patient care while assisting our patients with navigating their insurance coverage.

Our optometric assistants: Glenda and Vicky
Our Optometric Assistants, performs many of day-to-day tasks, such as taking patient histories, performing ocular measurements, and fitting glasses and contact lenses for patients. Our Optometric Assistants also perform many of the essential duties of practice management, whether that’s updating patient records, making sure the clinic is well-stocked with necessary supplies, answering phones or making sure the website is up to date. Helping people get the most out of their vision is a priority.
Glenda
Glenda has many years of experience as an Optometric assistant. Celebrating 10 years at Hudson Valley Eye Doctor! Glenda heads our contact lens department as well as been trained in optical sales. Her skills as an assistant enables her to care for our patients with a warm and competent manor.

Vicky has been a life long resident of Newburgh. She has been with the Hudson Valley Eye Doctor for 6 years. Her exceptional professionalism is demonstrated with her interactions with patients. She is multi-trained as an Optometric Assistant and in patient services. Vicky is proficient in both English and Spanish.
